Come work in atl

MailChimp (The Rocket Science Group) is hiring and they want you to feel at home. In case you need a little nudge about whether Atlanta is a nice place to live, they created some nice content on a website called “MailChimp / Guide to Atlanta” to convince you to move to their hometown and come work for them. MailChimp created a lot of quality content about the benefits of their city. They elaborate about the possible neighbourhoods you can live in (including estimated travel time), but they also list the finest places in town for food, drinks and culture. You can learn about the annual events in ATL, such as “Dragon Con” and “HOToberFest” and they encourage you to get involved in the community outside of the office. On the website they even included an “Employee Picks” section where they sum up the favourite places in the city form their own employees; nice personal touch. Smart thinking to promote ATL this way, it makes me want to live, and work there!

Of course there are multiple other sites (Official Atlanta Tourism Guide) that explain how wonderful the city is, but in this case the context is a different. This content is written specifically for future employees, not for tourists. The information helps you decide if Atlanta could be your new hometown and start a career at MailChimp. From a Human Resource Management perspective it’s a nice approach to draw talented people to your company, that do like to work at MailChimp, but are hesitant to move to a city they might not be familiar with. The content on the website is personal and also tells you something about the culture of the company. I’ definitely considering the options after checking out their site…
